If freshly baked croissants, delicious crepes, fresh salads and delectable sandwiches is what your taste buds fancy, then Suzette Creperie & Café is the place to be. Although this place started operations not very long ago in 2011, it has become one of the most recommended places for breakfast in the city of Mumbai. With gluttony on my mind and a weakness for croissants, I walked into the Bandra outlet of this French café at about 10 a.m. It is a humble place nestled in one of the most popular and busiest localities, Pali Naka in Bandra (West). The moment we were seated, I got down to business and food kept flowing till we could eat no more. Here’s a look at the yummy dishes we chomped on: FRENCH CROISSANT: The butter croissant was absolutely flaky and came with a helping of orange marmalade. It was by far the tastiest croissant I have ever had. It’s simply addictive and you just cannot stop at one. The outlet runs of these goodies every fast. So, make sure you arrive early to grab one. POULET:
Poulet means chicken in French. This was a yummy sandwich comprising of toasted multi-grain sour dough bread and a generous filling of grilled chicken, tomatoes- both fresh and sundried, my favorites feta, olives and basil. The sandwich came with a small side portion of cucumber salad, which proved very refreshing given the temperatures outside were soaring. MEDITÉRRANÉE: This is one of the classic buckwheat crepes the place dishes out. It comes laced with tapenade and a stuffing of grilled chicken and tomato. Mozzarella is a welcome addition to this savory crepe. CROQUE FETA: My love for feta continued with me ordering their signature hot wrap comprising of a filling of tomatoes, spinach, mozzarella accompanied with feta. If you love cheese in your food, this dish sure has generous amounts of it to satisfy your taste buds. The herb seasoning of the wrap gave it a very delicate flavor. Do try out these lovely preparations the next time you are at Suzette and let me know your experience. Till then, HAPPY EATING… |
