GLUTTONY @ BOMBAY BIRYANI CAFE, MUMBAI

The thought of kebabs and biryani always leaves me salivating. This time around to satisfy my cravings for these yummy preparations, I landed on Christmas Eve at Bombay Biryani Cafe in Bandra West, Mumbai for a delicious meal.

Here is a look at my gluttony with some of the food at this place:
APPETIZERS
  • PAHADI TIKKA comprised of huge cubes of perfectly grilled, moist chicken covered in a spicy green chili, mint and green coriander mix.
  • CHICKEN TIKKA also consisted of succulent, boneless chicken pieces coated in a red chili paste mix. I found this appetizer slightly spicier than how most restaurants serve it around Mumbai.
  • NAUGHTY HARA BHARA KEBAB were delicious fried cutlets with a crispy crust and a typical soft core of vegetables like green peas, spinach and potatoes. A garnish of grated cheese was the sinful addition to this preparation and also the reason for the unusual name of the dish.
MAIN COURSE
  • PUNJAB BALTI CHICKEN with its attractive presentation drew my attention instantly. This was a mildly spicy, onion gravy laced with boneless chicken and onion chunks. We paired this with the rich, delicious SCHEZWAN CHEESE BURST NAAN oozing with the popular, piquant Asian sauce and grated cheese.
  • BUTTER CHICKEN BIRYANI was a lip-smacking blend of a mild flavored boneless chicken masala cooked along with basmati rice.

DESSERT
SALTED CARAMEL PHIRNI was the quintessential milk and rice pudding with just the right amount of sweetness. A topping of salted caramel added a nice crunch and elevated the flavors of this sweet dish. However, a little more of the salted caramel would have made the dish more delightful for me.

The ambience is simple yet hygienic and comfortable. The pricing of the menu is moderate and competitive with most eateries and delivery joints dishing up similar cuisine in the locality. Also, this place is willing to home deliver all across Mumbai for a minimum order size and delivery charge.

So, do try out this place and let me know of your experience.

Till then, HAPPY EATING...
