Badshah is one of the most sought after places in the city of Mumbai for the chilled delight FALOODA. You can easily understand this by the sheer size of people waiting to eat and drink at this place at any time of the day. My suggestion is to land up at this eatery on Sunday. The reason being that surrounding Crawford market is shut so automatically the number of people moving around is less and waiting to eat here is less. I headed here with my folks after having my lunch to simply savor their FALOODA and not the scores of delicious snacks this place dishes out. So, here is a look at the three types of Falooda I ended up trying: 1. Royal Falooda - This drink is a blend of milk, rose syrup, vanilla ice cream, sabza (basil seeds) and vermicelli. All elements gelled well together to give a drink that had just the right amount of sweetness.
2. Paan Masala Falooda - This is a concoction of milk, paan flavoured syrup, gulkand (rose petal jam), paan masala ice cream, sabza (basil seeds) and vermicelli. This drink has a very refreshing flavor profile. The betel leaf and gulkand flavors assert their presence strongly and linger on your palate transposing you into a state of unexpected bliss. 3. Chocolate Falooda - This is a mixture of milk, chocolate sauce, chocolate ice cream, chocolate chips, sabza (basil seeds) and vermicelli. I found this drink very chalky and took an instant dislike for it. So, do try out this place and let me know of your experience. Till then, HAPPY EATING... |
