This restaurant chain is known for and has some amazing pizzas. I will definitely talk about them separately in another post. But, today I will talk about two dishes on their menu I simply love and indulge in without thinking twice about my ever expanding waistline. So, after gorging on them and going by the menu description of the dishes , here is what I have to say about them. Moroccan Chicken Salad The salad is an enticing, colorful dish comprising of Moroccan spiced chicken mixed with lettuce, red peppers, beetroot and roasted sweet potatoes flavoured with a special vinaigrette. The addition of dates and toasted almonds adds to the deliciousness of the salad. The incorporation of eggs and cranberries makes it further healthier. Chipotle Grilled Chicken
This is a yummy chicken appetizer comprising of chicken strips with flavors of smoked chipotle peppers. The dish comes with a herb ranch dressing and a small helping of house salad. The chicken is moist and the dressing goes deliciously well with it. Please note they have an array of vegetarian and non-vegetarian salads and appetizers to choose from. The ones that find mention here are my favorite picks. Do try out these, the next time you are at California Pizza Kitchen and let me know what you think about them. Till then, HAPPY EATING... Well, I entered the R-City mall, Ghatkopar, Mumbai outlet of Dunkin' Donuts & more with sole intention of trying out their new Voodoo wrap. But, my gluttony got the better of me. I ended up eating much more than that. So here is what I ended up chomping. Chicken Voodoo Wrap: This is new on the menu and a must try if you have a penchant for spicy food. The color of the wrap is very enticing and the filling is that of black sesame chicken, bell peppers, onion and a surprising inclusion of nuts (I think they have used the cocktail peanuts variety) and a sauce that leaves your taste buds tingling for more. No wonder the box, in which the wrap comes reads a warning, " proceed with caution" as you are bound to end up ordering more than one. Crunchy Joe Burger (Chicken): The bun is crisp and not soft and is stuffed with saucy chicken pieces that are tangy. Eating it sure is a messy affair. But, what I liked about it is that the burger is not very big(the image is a close-up shot so looks big) and is a change from the typical patty filled burgers we eat most of the time. Cinnamon Donut: Just to even out all the spicy flavors, I ordered a humble sugar and cinnamon dusted donut. The flavor of cinnamon was bang on but, the donut was a bit dry. It could have been wonderful had it been more moist. You cannot eat so much without having to drink something. So, here is what I ordered to go with my food.
Jamaican Rum & Almond Dunkaccino: To simply put it, this is a delicious cold coffee with a mild flavoring of rum and almonds. I asked for a topping of whipped cream that came garnished with almonds. This was yummy. Classic Lemon Iced Tea: This is your humble lemon-flavored iced tea. The taste was average but, hell I used it to wash down the spice from the food. I was stuffed, hope you too have a good time. Till then, HAPPY EATING...
Teriyaki Glazed Chicken Bao: This is an open bao (a steamed bun with a stuffing). The bread is silky soft and the stuffing of pan seared chicken in it is very succulent. This bao is laced with mayo that is slightly spicy (I say slightly as I can tolerate a lot of heat in my food), pickled cucumbers and has a sprinkling of schichimi (pronounced shee-chee-mee, is a Japanese spice blend) that adds a good punch of flavour to the dish. Wild Mushroom & Truffle Oil Dim Sums: These dim sums are a complete feast for the eyes and pleasure in the mouth. I have never come across dim sums prepared in this way before. As our server informed us, the pink colour is completely natural and derived from beetroot. The taste of the dim sums was smoky, rustic and strong from use of the truffle oil. Chicken & Jalapeno Dim Sums: The bright yellow coloured dim sums entice you to eat them and they do melt into the mount in no time. The combination of chicken and jalapeno makes these dim sums very flavoursome. Sakura Sakura: Since both my friend and I were driving, we settled for a non-alcoholic beverage. The mocktail has an alluring, rich colour and addition of fresh fruits like apple, pomegranate add a layer of texture to the drink making it refreshing. It’s like drinking a non-alcoholic sangria. I would definitely love to go back again to this place for the myriad colours and flavours it has to offer. Do try this place out and let me know what you think about it.
Till then, HAPPY EATING… The mention of the French Toast and one is already salivating at the thought of a yummy egg & bread preparation.
At Smoke House Deli, Mumbai this simple dish is taken to another level with the addition of blueberry compote, fresh cream and a drizzle of maple syrup. Having SWEET TEETH, this felt like being in food heaven. So do try out this dish and let me know what you think about it. So long HAPPY EATING...
![]() This weekend live it up like a king and indulge in a breakfast that's nothing short of a royal treat. Situated on the ninth mezzanine (9M) floor of @Palladium Hotel , Seven Kitchens restaurant offers a lavish breakfast spread with a view of the city to soak in . Named after it's seven different cooking stations, the restaurant dishes out Indian, Asian, Continental fares for breakfast. So you have the fruit bars, salad bars, beverage counters filled with juices and smoothies, cold cuts, the eggs counter, traditional Indian breakfast items with a live counter for dosa/utappa, Continental counters offering sausages to baked beans to hash browns to grilled veggies to waffles to pancakes to phyllo/puff pastry preparations, Asian counters dishing out dim sums, clear noodle soups, congee & much more....PHEW I feel full all over again just talking about it. My personal favorites as usual were sweeter breakfast options. Also, I went little astray and enjoyed Asian preparations of dim sums & noodles too. Capturing some of my favorite things from this breakfast: - The pancakes were fluffy, light and tasted yum with a topping of fresh cream and blueberry compote. - Cinnamon roll, cheese croissant and pain au chocolat had an outstanding flakiness and just melted in the mouth. - My weakness for dimsum and noodles got the better off me and I ended up enjoying them a lot. Here is a picture too of my favorite things. Hope this gluttony has kicked your taste buds and got you thinking about how to indulge yourself this weekend. HAPPY EATING… |
