"New Mangiilical Menu" that's how popular, casual dining brand Café Mangii is referring to its fresh, summer inspired menu. This carte du jour indeed weaves magic on the taste buds through its lip-smacking offerings. Classic food combinations are presented in an interesting way that take your palate on an impressive gastronomic journey. Here is look at my grand gluttony with the "New Mangiilical Menu": In little over half a century of its existence, this is the first time ever Pizza Express is holding a Hawaiian themed celebration. The reason being, it is for the first time Pizza Express has agreed to have pineapple as a topping on its pizza. Therefore, to showcase this Hawaiian influence on its offerings, Pizza Express has curated a special menu with hand-picked dishes. This Hawaiian themed menu that is provided alongside the regular menu entails very select and classy offerings of four types of pizzas, an appetizer, a seafood pasta as well as interesting cocktails and mocktails. So, here is a look at what I ended up trying from the aforementioned menu: On an unassuming Saturday morning I landed up at ZooBar, Mumbai with a few friends. One would wonder why someone would term an eatery the way this place is named. But, a quick walk from the entrance point to the spacious interior of this food joint instantly puts your queries to rest. The place is dotted with interesting animal paintings and figurines. Also, since the owner is an animal lover he has ensured that this restaurant is pet-friendly. The ambience sports amber lighting even during breakfast hours breaking away from the mundane look and feel most restaurants operating during this time of the day. Soaking into the sights and sounds of the place, we quickly settled at our table and placed our orders. Here is look at my gluttony with the breakfast menu: I have always been in awe of the cuisine of the north-western frontier of Indian subcontinent. In my opinion, the veneration of this gastronomy stems from its genesis dating back centuries to the royal kitchens of the Mughal Empire and its surrounding princely states. The meticulous cooking procedures, potent use of ingredients and creation of bespoke preparations were a hallmark of these kitchens. Today, many eons later, the recipes handed down through generations of khansamas or chefs of these royal kitchens have attained the status of culinary masterpieces. Jyran - Tandoor Dining & Lounge at Sofitel Mumbai BKC takes pride in presenting these intriguing dishes to mesmerize the taste buds of Mumbaikars. With its new menu specially curated by the skilled Chef Shadab Ahmed, Jyran is ambitiously elevating the level at which this cuisine is being recreated in modern times. Chef Ahmed with his decades of experience of catering to royal taste buds across the country has brought some of the most sophisticated preparations to life in this new menu. So, here is a look at my gluttony with a few dishes from this new magnificent à la carte menu at the grand Jyran - Tandoor Dining & Lounge: The mere mention of Japanese cuisine conjures up images of a sophisticated gastronomy. The palates of Mumbaikars have been responding gradually yet favorably to this refined culinary style that lays emphasis on being subtle in use of ingredients yet powerful in terms of creation. Kofuku, a notable restaurant in Bandra (West), Mumbai churning out some of the most remarkable sushi in the city has plans of taking this cuisine beyond the fine dining realm through it offerings. It intends to make this cuisine accessible and acceptable in a more casual and lively setting and by way of its sister concern the Kanpai Lounge & Bar. Yes, Kanpai Lounge & Bar is a first of its kind Japanese cuisine centric lounge bar to grace the city. The menu boasts of some lip-smacking finger food created by Chef James Biaka and exciting thirst-quenchers. The dim amber lighting, spacious seating arrangement, walls adorned with comics by the Japanese artist Shohei Emura, theatrical motifs from the annual Nebuta festival in Japan and mellifluous Japanese music make Kanpai Lounge & Bar a chic destination for a memorable and classy evening. |
