In order to up the ante, the offerings by food delivery services now entail a wide variety of chows ranging from calorie counted to decadent treats, from home cooked preparation to exotic gourmet meals. Recently, I was exposed to a situation where a packed meal from home delivery service was a solution to my hunger woes. I was on my way to an adventure park on the outskirts of Mumbai with a few friends. A morning drive of over two hours through a terrible traffic situation necessitated a meal on the go. Thankfully a dear friend had anticipated what lay ahead and got delicious food neatly packed from 8 FOOD for every traveler. Not having heard of 8 FOOD before, my friend filled me in on the fact that their menu comprises of delicious soups, salads, sandwiches and much more. Currently, 8 FOOD delivers lip-smacking food via its outlets in BKC and Powai, Mumbai. Also, the recipes have been created by a reputed Michelin-Star chef from the United Kingdom. I was amazed to hear that and with gusto began chomping on the noshes offered to me. So, here is a glimpse of the grub for 8 FOOD I gorged on to put those hunger pangs to rest: PESTO CHICKEN SANDWICH Two multi-grain slices of bread were packed with generous portion of shredded chicken. The chicken was succulent and laced with delicious pesto sauce. A layer of lettuce and sliced tomatoes added an uplifting freshness to the sandwich. BBQ CHICKEN & APPLE SALAD
This salad had an enticing appearance and was a play of colors and flavors. The chicken was cooked perfectly and had a lovely smoky flavor. Chunks of baby tomatoes and apples lent a juicy touch and sublime sweetness to the salad. The lettuce brought in the much needed fibre component. A slightly spicy dressing of BBQ sauce married all the components of the salad together in a beautiful way. FRESH LEMON GRASS ICED TEA This was a chilled infusion of mint, lemon grass and tea. It did quench my thirst but the flavors did not really wow me. So, if you get a chance do try out 8 FOOD and let me know of your experience. Till then, HAPPY EATING... |
