![]() Gluttons just need an excuse to engage in the activity they are best at. So, the talk of the new menu at The Irish House on social media instigated my friends and me to find out more. We landed at the newly opened Bandra West outlet of The Irish House on bustling Wednesday evening. We quikly settled into one of the centre tables and got down to business. What caught us by pleasant surprise was that not only the items on the menu were new, but the food menu design had also changed. The food menu had a tempting, pictorial depiction of most dishes on offer. This was bait enough to get us started on ordering a great amount of food, given that all on the table were teetotallers on that day. Here is what we ended up chomping. APPETIZER: Two Face Chicken Skewers This starter had two types of chicken skewers - one type was chicken sausage with a barbeque sauce and second was chicken supreme in a creamy mustard sauce. It would have been a better starter if we the sausages were replaced with regular chicken. FRIES: Minced Up This was one unusual take on a skillet. The base was of fries which came topped with chicken Bolognese and shreds of boiled eggs. The garnish of cheese and fried onions added an appealing texture to the dish. COMMUNITY EATS: Belfast Chicken Wings These were delicious and succulent chicken wings and drumsticks. One can choose the method of prep - which is glazed or fried. We went in for the glazed style of cooking. As a special request the wings were served with orange honey chilly, barbeque sauce and red wine jus. A portion of fries accompanied this appetizer. BURGERS: Cheeky Grilled Chicken Burger This came with a stuffing of herbed, grilled chicken, boiled egg slices and a creamy sauce and cheese. The burger came with a portion of fries and a yummy pineapple relish. This burger was one mouthful and was very filling. Double Chicken Ghost Crunch Burger This is one yummy, zesty burger comprising panco crusted chicken tenders. Heat is added to this burger by way of jholakia mayo, jalapenos, topped with balsamic peppers. The addition of cheddar melt makes it rich . There is a side of fries that comes along with this burger. ![]() DESSERT: Topsy Turvy Apple Cinnamon Cake We ended our meal on a delicious note with a warm, moist upside down Apple Cinnamon Cake. The flavors were simple and paired perfectly with hot cup of coffee. This was a sneak peek into our gluttony at The Irish House. Do try out their new menu and let me know of your experience. Till then, HAPPY EATING... |
