![]() I am always concerned with regards to the nutritional value of the meals I consume since I eat out almost five times a week. Am I taking all the recommended daily allowances of macro and micro nutrients in my daily meals? The answer is maybe or maybe not. This concern stems from the fact that I am pressed for time to make my own meals and also I end up eating my major meals of the day at extremely odd hours. In light of all these alarming situations, I recently stumbled upon myDaily, which is a meal replacement shake replete with carbohydrates, proteins and fats. In addition, this powdered meal comes enriched with necessary minerals, vitamins and dietary fiber. Thus, for a person with a hectic work schedule like me it held the promise of a well-balanced meal that is hassle free and offers ease of preparation and consumption. So, does myDaily’s proposition work for me? Initially I was apprehensive about the taste, as my previous trysts with powdered dietary supplements were not really great. But, my apprehensions were laid to rest when I tasted the product. I mixed the contents of a vanilla flavored, 115 gm sachet costing about INR 175 in 350 ml of chilled water. The resulting mixture had the consistency of a runny milkshake and had a flavor similar to that of a lightly sweetened oats smoothie. My palate enjoyed this taste and I felt satiated half way through my drink. The drink kept me full and my hunger pangs away for more than 3 hours. I preserved half of the shake and consumed it with cut fruits for breakfast the next day.
An important fact to be noted is that the formula of this meal replacement powder neither comprises of artificial flavors nor preservatives. Care has been taken to ensure that this formulation is free of trans fats and is made using ingredients of vegetable origin only. While I experimented with the vanilla flavor, there are chocolate and neutral flavor variants also available. More information regarding this product can be found on http://www.mydailymeal.com/collections/mydaily-meal-replacement . Till then, HEALTHY EATING… (PS: Do consult your dietician/physician regarding this product and read nutritional information on the pack thoroughly prior to consumption)
