In a recent article I had touched upon how the cookware sector has progressed in the past century and highlighted the pros and cons of various cookware. The cookware industry is revolutionizing its products at a rapid pace to cater to growing numbers of population, who want to employ healthy cooking techniques that also preserve nutritional value of food.
The Innove range from Royal Prestige® brand exclusively distributed by Seeba International in India is one such premium cookware offering the promise of nutritive food preparation. Well, in order to know more about this cookware range and what it entails, I landed with my foodie friends for a lovely Sunday brunch held by Royal Prestige® with celebrity chef Rakhee Vaswani at her Palate Culinary Studio in Mumbai.
Chef Vaswani demonstrated the use of Innove range to us by roping us into the cooking of the brunch with her. I worked on the Moroccan Charmoula Chicken entrée with the chef and was amazed to see how a massive chicken breast cooked perfectly and swiftly within a span of 15 minutes. In the preparation no oil or fat was used yet the dish had delicious flavors and the chicken remained succulent. Also, the vegetables cooked along with the chicken were not blanched and retained their vibrant color. The secret for this speedy and healthy cooking rests in the construct of the vessels of this cooking range comprising of varying sizes of saucepans, skillets, Dutch oven and even paella pans.
A total of five layers of metal make up each vessel. The outermost layer in contact with the cooktop is that of magnetic stainless steel. This layer is attuned for cooking on not only gas but also electric and induction cooktops. The next inner three layers are of high grade aluminium while the layer in contact with the food being cooked is made of surgical stainless steel. So, one can achieve high temperatures for cooking in a matter of few minutes as well as even heat distribution. The surface of the surgical stainless steel layer does not react with any kind of ingredient in the food and hence no toxic metal leeching occurs while cooking. Also, this layer offers a non-stick kind of surface thereby eliminating any necessity of oil or fat for cooking a dish.
The lid of the vessels are fitted with a Redi-Temp® Valve. The whistling of the valve serves as an indicator for an apt cooking temperature of 82°C at which food is purged of all bacteria and germs without damaging the essential nutrients of the food.
Apart from the chicken we also cooked a delicious barley risotto, mushroom sauce and Zero-fat Semolina (suji) Halwa. As the handles of the vessel are detachable, we went ahead and even baked a Low-fat & Eggless Chocolate Banana Cake placing a skillet sans the handles in an oven.
I indeed had an insightful time learning and cooking with this state-of-the-art cookware.
