If you are an Axis Bank card holder, you have all reasons to rejoice. Through its #GourmetFest taking place until November 20, 2016, Axis Bank is providing an awesome dining experience to its patrons at some of the most renowned restaurants across Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata and Delhi NCR. As part of the fest one can enjoy lip-smacking dishes part of especially curated set menus for just INR 799 plus taxes. Here is a look at my gluttony at Cafe Zoe which is one of the renowned restaurants in Mumbai participating in this Gourmet Fest: SOUP & SALAD COURSE Corn & Roasted Garlic Soup: This is a dish that warms your heart. The first flavor that hits you is the sweetness of the corn only to be taken over by the imposingly earthy and delicious one of roasted garlic. The creamy texture and a generous portion size further add to the bliss of consuming this tasty soup. Greek Salad: No surprises here that the salad came complete with feta cheese, olives, baby tomatoes, cucumber and lettuce. A tangy olive oil dressing served as a perfect moistening and binding element for the salad. MAIN COURSE Grilled Chicken: The presentation of the dish with hunks of chook drizzled with pink peppercorn veloute & served on a bed of grilled potato wedges was spectacular. The chicken was grilled to perfection, was succulent and had taken up herbaceous flavour of rosemary. The veloute deliciously accentuated by use of pink peppercorns proved a befitting sauce to gorge the chicken with. Ratatouille Ravioli: This preparation is a pasta lover’s delight. Paper thin sheets of pasta enveloped a flavoursome filling of tart ratatouille or thickened vegetable stew. A rich garnish of Parmesan, pine nuts and olive oil elevated the flavour profile of the dish to a superior level altogether. A topping of sundried tomato pesto and sour cream brought an additional zing to the dish. DESSERT COURSE
Salted Caramel Banana Pie: This was a light, sweet and refreshing dessert comprising of a creamy mixture laden with banana chunks spread over chocolate crumble base served with a smear of salted caramel. Dark Chocolate Mousse & Marzipan Cake: This dessert had got the flavours right but was too heavy for my liking. The texture of mousse was too dense and when paired with marzipan it felt like a gigantic task to finish this dessert. I had an enjoyable dinner savouring the dishes that were part of this Gourmet Fest by Axis Bank.
