“You are raising a toddler in Mumbai while your husband is working hard in Goa to ensure a bright and comfortable future for the family. He is missing both of you terribly and could only wish you and the baby were with him on your wedding anniversary.” Just imagine if you are asked to translate this real life situation into a wedding anniversary cake. Quite surreal one would say. But, that is how demanding and creative clients are getting with notions for planning cakes for special occasions in the lives of their loved ones. However, Hiral Deepesh Meswani, who runs the home baking brand Lively Affairss loves to bring such dream like ideas to life through her baking skills. No wonder the tagline of her baking business is “Born to bake your dreams come true”. I had the privilege of observing Hiral at work on the aforementioned idea and was awed by her ingenuity and diligence. Each element of the cake was well thought of in terms of its execution. Below is a glimpse of how the cake took shape capturing all essentials of the client brief: You will be amazed to know that Hiral was part of the corporate world until last summer. But, soon found her calling in baking and decided to take the plunge. Her husband Deepesh and mother-in-law welcomed her decision and have been her biggest supporters since then. With no official training in baking, Hiral got into a self-training by viewing cake themed shows on some of the popular infotainment channels. Thus, was born a full time baked goodies brand Lively Affairss in the summer of 2015 from just a part time passion filled name! Since then Hiral has come a long way and is taking her brand to new heights each day. Her artistry is very refined and each of her creations are nothing short of masterpieces. From custom-made cakes to gorgeous cupcakes to stunningly designed cookies to yummy tarts, she bakes them all. Her forte is the enthralling figurine work on her cakes. All her products are 100% vegetarian and she utilizes the best of ingredients to make her creations. Hiral is also keen to extend her knowledge of baking to the world and has recently started baking workshops for adults as well as children. These workshops span over couple hours and some even couple of days and familiarize participants with the baking techniques and recipes that can be followed by them in their respective kitchens. The workshops are reasonably priced in my opinion and are fun-filled sessions where you begin to revel in at the mere stage of measuring ingredients itself. I witnessed a workshop of cupcakes and cookies underway with children aged between 4 and 12 years and was amazed to see the enthusiasm of the brood. Below is a glimpse into the workshop with children that I witnessed and it was one of the most delightful ones. Till then, HAPPY BAKING…
